  • 4 tablespoons Unsalted Butter divided
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Lemon Juice about 2 lemons
  • 1/2 cup Low-Sodium Chicken Broth or vegetable broth
  • 2 tablespoons Capers rinsed
For Garnishing
  • to taste Fresh Parsley chopped
  • for serving Lemon Slices

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Season the cod fillets generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. Lightly coat each cod fillet in all-purpose flour, shaking off excess.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil and butter over medium-high heat.
  4. Carefully place the dredged cod fillets into the hot skillet and sauté until golden brown.
  5. Remove cooked fillets and cover with foil to keep warm.
  6. In the same skillet, sauté minced garlic until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  7. Pour in fresh lemon juice and chicken broth; bring to a simmer.
  8. Stir in capers and let the sauce simmer for 1-2 minutes.
  9. Whisk in remaining butter until melted and sauce thickens.
  10. Return the cooked cod fillets to the skillet, spoon sauce over the top, and warm through.
  11. Plate the Cod Piccata, garnish with parsley and lemon slices, and serve immediately.
