Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. In a heated large skillet, add ground beef over medium-high heat. Brown for about 5 minutes until no pink remains. Set beef aside and reserve 1 tablespoon of rendered fat.
  2. With the reserved beef fat, sauté diced onion for 3 to 4 minutes until translucent, then add sliced mushrooms and cook until golden, about 2 minutes.
  3. Stir in green beans, minced garlic, and beef broth. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes until green beans are bright green and crisp-tender.
  4. Reduce heat to medium-low and mix in cream cheese, stirring until melted. Then incorporate sour cream until mixed seamlessly.
  5. Return the browned beef to the skillet, season with salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and thyme. Stir gently until combined.
  6. Sprinkle shredded Colby Jack cheese evenly on top of the mixture.
  7. Broil on high for 1 to 2 minutes or cover and cook on low heat for 3 to 4 minutes until cheese is golden and bubbly.
