  • 4 cups filtered water
  • 3-4 bags black tea Assam or Ceylon recommended
For the Flavors
  • 1 large orange for juice and zest
  • several fresh rosemary sprigs vibrant green for maximum flavor
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger sliced thinly
  • 1/4 cup sugar adjust to taste; or use stevia

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Boil 4 cups of filtered water in a medium-sized pot over medium-high heat until it reaches a rolling boil.
  2. Remove the pot from heat. Add 3-4 black tea bags, several fresh rosemary sprigs, the zest of the orange, and thinly sliced ginger. Stir gently.
  3. Let the mixture steep for 5-7 minutes, then remove tea bags to avoid bitterness.
  4. Stir in sugar to taste when the tea is warm, then set aside to cool slightly.
  5. Strain the mixture into a large pitcher using a fine mesh strainer.
  6. Squeeze the juice from the freshly zested orange into the pitcher, stirring well.
  7. Cool to room temperature before refrigerating for at least 2 hours.
  8. Serve over ice cubes and garnish with orange slices and rosemary sprigs.
