- Spread pesto on one side of each slice of sourdough bread.
- Place provolone cheese on one slice, covering edges for better meltability.
- Assemble sandwich with the other slice pesto side down.
- Melt butter in a skillet over medium-low heat; then add the sandwich.
- Spread additional butter on top and cook until golden brown (5-6 minutes).
- Flip sandwich and cook the other side for another 5-6 minutes until golden and melted.
- Remove from skillet, let rest a minute, then slice and serve warm.
