Ingredients

For the Dough
  • 3 cups All-Purpose Flour Consider gluten-free flour as an alternative.
  • teaspoons Yeast Both instant or active dry yeast work well.
  • 2 teaspoons Sugar Used to activate the yeast.
  • 1 cup Milk Use almond milk for a dairy-free option.
  • 1 large Eggs Can substitute with flax or chia eggs for a vegan option.
  • ¼ cup Butter Melted; coconut oil is a perfect dairy-free substitution.
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
For the Filling
  • 2 cups Peaches Fresh, frozen, or canned. If juicy, toss with flour.
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon Can pair with nutmeg for added flavor.
  • ¼ cup Sugar Adjust based on peach ripeness.
For the Frosting
  • 4 ounces Cream Cheese Softened; can use Greek yogurt for a lighter option.
  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar Adjust to your preferred sweetness.

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Warm 1 cup of milk until just warm to touch. Remove from heat and whisk in 2 teaspoons sugar and 2¼ teaspoons yeast. Let activate for 5 minutes.
  2. In a bowl, combine 3 cups flour, 1 egg, ¼ cup melted butter, and ½ teaspoon salt. Knead until smooth for about 5-7 minutes. Let rise for 1 hour until doubled.
  3. Mix 2 cups sliced peaches with ¼ cup sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon in a bowl. Optionally add a tablespoon of flour if peaches are juicy.
  4. Roll the dough out to 12x18 inches, spread filling, roll tightly and slice into 12 pieces.
  5. Arrange in a greased baking dish and let rise for 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 25 minutes until golden.
  6. Beat 4 ounces cream cheese, 1 cup powdered sugar, and 1 teaspoon vanilla until smooth. Add milk for desired consistency.
  7. Cool rolls for 10 minutes then drizzle with frosting.

Notes

Allow rolls to cool before frosting to maintain the frosting’s structure. Use fresh peaches lightly coated with flour to prevent sogginess.
