  • 1 large Egg Acts as a binder.
  • ½ cup Warm Water Adjust with more if needed.
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Butter or Oil Used for frying.

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the almond flour, psyllium husk, mozzarella cheese, and salt. Mix well with a whisk.
  2. Add the egg to the dry ingredients and mix. Gradually pour in warm water while stirring until a soft dough forms.
  3. Divide the dough into four portions and shape each into a thick disc about ½ inch thick.
  4. Preheat a skillet over medium heat and add the butter or oil, melting to coat the pan.
  5. Place the arepas into the skillet, cooking each side for 4–5 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Remove the arepas from the skillet and let them rest for a couple of minutes before serving.
