  • 4 slices Bacon use turkey bacon for a healthier twist
  • 1/2 cup Ketchup this sweet glaze ties all the flavors together
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs panko works great for extra lightness or gluten-free
  • 1 Egg the magic binder that holds everything together
  • 1 medium Onion adds moisture and a burst of flavor

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease your baking dish.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, finely chopped onion, breadcrumbs, cheese, and chopped bacon. Mix in the egg and any desired spices until just combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into a loaf about 2 inches high, and place it in the prepared baking dish.
  4. Brush ketchup evenly over the top of the meatloaf, leaving the sides unglazed.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 1 hour until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  6. Allow the meatloaf to rest for about 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
