Method
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease your baking dish.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, finely chopped onion, breadcrumbs, cheese, and chopped bacon. Mix in the egg and any desired spices until just combined.
- Shape the mixture into a loaf about 2 inches high, and place it in the prepared baking dish.
- Brush ketchup evenly over the top of the meatloaf, leaving the sides unglazed.
- Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 1 hour until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
- Allow the meatloaf to rest for about 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
