  • 1 pack Phyllo Dough Keep unused sheets covered with a damp towel
  • 0.5 cup Unsalted Butter Melt before use
For the Filling
  • 0.75 cup Semolina Flour No direct substitutes
  • 3 large Eggs For vegan, substitute with flax or chia eggs
  • 0.5 cup Granulated Sugar Coconut sugar can be used as a substitute
  • 2 cups Whole Milk Substitute with any dairy-free milk if desired
  • 1 tsp Ground Cinnamon Nutmeg can be substituted if preferred
  • 0.25 tsp Ground Nutmeg Optional, can be omitted
For the Drizzle and Garnish
  • 0.5 cup Honey Maple syrup or agave nectar can be used as a vegan alternative
  • 2 tbsp Toasted Sesame Seeds Optional, can be omitted

Method
 

Cooking Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease the baking dish with butter.
  2. Layer phyllo dough, brushing each layer with melted butter, for 6 sheets.
  3. Whisk together semolina flour, eggs, sugar, milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until smooth.
  4. Pour the filling over the phyllo layer and top with another buttered phyllo sheet.
  5. Bake for 40-45 minutes until golden brown and filling is set.
  6. Cool for 10 minutes and drizzle honey before serving.

Notes
