- Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C) and line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, beat together unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and powdered sugar until light and fluffy for about 2-3 minutes. Add vanilla extract and mix well.
- Gradually mix in all-purpose flour until you form a thick dough. Press two-thirds of the dough into the prepared pan and bake for 20 minutes.
- In a saucepan, melt caramel candies with heavy cream over low heat, stirring constantly until smooth.
- Pour the caramel filling over the baked crust and sprinkle flaky sea salt over it.
- Crumble the reserved dough over the caramel filling, then return to the oven and bake for another 25-30 minutes.
- Allow to cool completely in the pan, then chill for 1 hour before slicing.
