  • 2 tablespoon Rice Vinegar Can substitute with apple cider vinegar.
  • 1 teaspoon Toasted Sesame Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes Optional, adjust to taste.
  • 1 tablespoon Arrowroot Powder Or cornstarch to thicken if desired.
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Seeds To garnish.

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together maple syrup, coconut aminos, rice vinegar, toasted sesame oil, and red pepper flakes until well combined.
  2. Heat a tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add in ground beef, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon and cook for about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in minced garlic and grated ginger into the skillet with the ground beef. Sauté the mixture for 1 to 2 minutes.
  4. Toss in diced red bell pepper and shredded carrots into the skillet with the beef. Stir everything together and cook for about 3 to 4 minutes.
  5. Pour the prepared sauce over the cooked beef and vegetable mixture. Stir well to ensure an even coating and simmer for an additional 2 to 3 minutes.
  6. Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the sliced green onions. Spoon the filling into the washed lettuce leaves, garnishing with sesame seeds.
