Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Cut the chicken breasts in half lengthwise to create thin cutlets. Season with salt and pepper, then coat in flour.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil, and cook the chicken for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  3. Melt butter in the same skillet, add sliced mushrooms and Italian seasoning, sauté for 5-6 minutes until soft.
  4. Add minced garlic to the skillet, sauté for 30 seconds, then pour in chicken broth, lemon juice, and Dijon mustard; simmer for 3-4 minutes.
  5. Stir in heavy cream, add sautéed mushrooms and cooked chicken back into the pan, and simmer for 5 minutes until heated through.
