For the Sandwich
  • 2 slices Sourdough or Whole Grain Bread Choose your favorite type
  • 2 tbsp Butter Softened for easy spreading
  • 1/2 cup Homemade Cranberry Sauce For tartness and sweetness
  • 1/4 cup Toasted Walnuts Roughly chopped for crunch
  • 1 cup Fresh Baby Spinach Or arugula for a peppery alternative
  • 4 oz Roasted Turkey Breast Thinly sliced for layering
  • 4 oz Brie Offers creamy, rich flavor
For Cooking
  • 1 Non-stick Skillet Ensures even cook and golden crust

Equipment

  • non-stick skillet

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Start by softening your butter to make spreading easier. Generously butter the outside of each slice of your chosen bread—sourdough or whole grain work beautifully.
  2. Take one slice of the prepared bread and generously spread a layer of your homemade cranberry sauce. Sprinkle a handful of toasted walnuts, followed by fresh baby spinach.
  3. Layer on the thinly sliced roasted turkey breast, and top with slices of creamy brie. Cover with the second slice of bread, buttered side facing out.
  4. Place a non-stick skillet over medium-low heat. Once hot, gently place your sandwich into the skillet. Cover with a lid and cook for 3-4 minutes until the bottom is golden brown.
  5. Carefully flip the sandwich to cook the other side for an additional 2-3 minutes until the brie is melty and the second side turns a beautiful golden hue.
  6. Transfer the sandwich to a cutting board and let it rest for a minute before slicing in half to reveal the layered goodness.

Notes

For best results, use a hearty bread to prevent sogginess and allow the brie to melt properly for a delightful experience.
