Step-by-Step Instructions for Butter Garlic Pasta
  1. Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the dried pasta according to package directions for 8-10 minutes. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
  2. While the pasta cooks, mince three cloves of garlic and slice three more into thin pieces.
  3. In a small pan, melt four tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add sliced garlic and cook for 2 minutes until golden. Then, add minced garlic and cook for another minute.
  4. Combine the drained pasta with the garlic butter sauce in the original pot. Toss to coat the pasta evenly.
  5. Gradually add reserved pasta water to adjust the sauce consistency until silky.
  6. Before serving, mix in minced parsley and optionally sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top.
