Step-by-Step Instructions for Butter Garlic Pasta
- Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the dried pasta according to package directions for 8-10 minutes. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
- While the pasta cooks, mince three cloves of garlic and slice three more into thin pieces.
- In a small pan, melt four tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add sliced garlic and cook for 2 minutes until golden. Then, add minced garlic and cook for another minute.
- Combine the drained pasta with the garlic butter sauce in the original pot. Toss to coat the pasta evenly.
- Gradually add reserved pasta water to adjust the sauce consistency until silky.
- Before serving, mix in minced parsley and optionally sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top.
