- In a small mixing bowl, combine 3 tablespoons of softened unsalted butter, 2 minced garlic cloves, and 1 tablespoon of chopped fresh parsley. Stir until well combined and creamy.
- Slice the Cuban bread in half lengthwise. Brush the cut sides with the prepared garlic butter.
- Spread 2 teaspoons of yellow mustard on one side of each bread half. Layer 4 slices of smoked ham, followed by 4 slices of salami or roasted pork, 8 pickle slices, and 4 slices of cheese.
- Heat a cast iron skillet over medium heat. Place the assembled sandwiches in the skillet and grill each for 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
- Remove sandwiches from the skillet, let them rest for 1 minute, slice diagonally, and serve hot.
