For the Cheese Sauce
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter for the sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic freshly minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 quarter cup all-purpose flour or cornstarch for gluten-free
  • 2 cups whole milk for creaminess
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese freshly shredded
For the Topping
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs for crunch

Preparation

  3. In a saucepan, melt butter and sauté garlic until fragrant, then stir in salt, pepper, and flour to create a roux.
  4. Gradually whisk in milk, cooking until thickened, then remove from heat and stir in cheddar cheese until melted.
  5. Combine cooked pasta with cheese sauce, ensuring all pasta is well-coated.
  6. Spoon the mixture into the muffin tin, filling each cup and topping with panko breadcrumbs.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown, then cool for 10 minutes before serving.
